Angus programs
Angus steers and heifers must meet the following requirements to qualify for PM Beef's Angus programs.
Live animal requirements
- Cattle meet Angus phenotypic requirements
- Source-verified
- Age-verified
- Documented health history
- No visual indication of Bos Indicus or dairy breeding (no hump exceeding 2 inches in height)
- Feedlot certification process
- Cattle are monitored and audited in the feedlot
- Guaranteed corn-fed for a minimum of 100 days on a high energy corn diet
- Minimum of 110 days on feed
- Vitamin E — 500 IU per day
Carcass requirements
- Steers and heifers
- No dark cutters
- No internal hemorrhages
- Quality
- A or B maturity grade
- Marbling
- - Slight 00 or higher
- - Fine- or medium-textured
